Our Connections

As with all Baptist churches, Olton Baptist Church is an autonomous church that runs and funds itself, but we connect to a  range of local and national partners for guidance, resourcing, accountability, mutual support and joint mission:

Baptist Union of Great Britain (BUGB). We are members of BUGB, the national Baptist family of churches in England and Wales. Our minister is accredited by BUGB and they provide support to us on many church matters from legal guidance to ideas for outreach.

Heart of England Baptist Association (HEBA). For a more local connection, we are part of HEBA, a gathering of about 170 Baptist churches across the West Midlands that seeks to enable churches in mission, equip ministers and church leaders, and encourage spiritual growth and discipleship.

Kaleidoscope. More local still, we meet and work with a handful of Baptist Churches in South East Birmingham and across the Solihull Borough in what is called the Kaleidoscope cluster. Ministers and lay leadership support each other, and people from the different churches meet together occasionally for worship, training, and mission as well as socially.

Churches Together in Olton (CTO). We also seek to foster good relationship and a working partnership with other churches in Olton. We share worship and outreach with the three other churches represented in the Ward – St. Margaret’s Parish Church, Olton Friary (Catholic Church) and Solihull United Reformed Church.

Evangelical Alliance. In addition to the above, we are also members of the Evangelical Alliance.
