Young People

GOBS (11-14)
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1 v 9.
Our GOBS (Gideons at Olton Baptist) group is aimed at those just joining secondary school, and enables our young people to question and walk through being a Christian together. Challenging, high energy and quite frequently messy, this group is great fun to be involved in. With a mix of social events and topical discussions, this is a very rewarding group of young people to be with.

YOBs (14-18)
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.’ 1 Timothy 4:12
Our YOBs (Youth at Olton Baptist) is a group for young people to think seriously and be challenged by all aspects of Christianity, wherever they are on their spiritual journey.   They meet regularly on a Sunday night at The Branch as well as for XLR8 on a Thursday night where faith is explored further.   A varied programme of socials, discussions and silliness (with the odd residential thrown in) brings together a fantastic bunch of young people with fun had by all!

SLOBS (18+)
SLOBS (Student Leavers at Olton Baptist) is an informal network of young(ish) people who have left school or college and are now working / looking for work  / studying / volunteering. Communication takes place mostly through Facebook, but over the summer months, when many of this age range are back at home from university, we meet each Sunday night for conversation and cake.
